The body of the unidentified man who jumped into the Lekki-Ikoyi link Bridge lagoon on Tuesday has been recovered.

According to The Nation, his remains were recovered by the Lagos State Emergency and Rescue Agency (LASEMA) on Thursday morning after two days of intensive search and rescue operations.

It was learned that the remains had been bagged immediately for onward movement to the Lagos morgue by the State Environmental Health Management Unit (SEHMU).

One of the eyewitnesses, Temitope, tweeted: “Depression is real tbh Someone just jumped into the Ikoyi link bridge water right in front of me, not quite long. Hope he will not be lifeless before the rescue team arrives.”

Confirming the incident, the spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said: “Our men are there, controlling the crowd as other rescue teams arrive”.
